<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torsional vibration damper capable of maintaining its compact outside dimension while lowering production cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The damper includes: an outside housing 11; an inside part 12 coaxial with the outside housing; a plurality of chambers 13, which are formed between the outside housing and the inside part, filled with a vibration damping medium, and connected mutually via overflow channels 14; and a plurality of leaf spring assemblies 16, 17, 16', and 17' disposed inside the chamber to connect the outside housing and the inside part together flexibly to torsion. The leaf spring assembly has machining-induced deflection. Two leaf spring assemblies having substantially equal deflection are disposed respectively in one chamber.
