PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus for effectively cooling a single-piece, combined combustor liner/transition piece. SOLUTION: An apparatus for cooling a single-piece duct 10 includes at least one metal wrapper 38 disposed at the transition piece located outboard of the transition piece. At least one support boss 36 is located between the metal wrapper and the transition piece.
