A slide fastener (1) has fastener elements (10, 10', 30, 40) each provided with an upper half element portion (11, 31, 41) mounted to a first face side of a fastener tape (2) and with a lower half element portion (21) mounted to a second face side of the fastener tape (2). Each upper half element portion (11, 31, 41) has a first tape-sandwiching section (12, 32, 42) and a tapered first head section (13, 13', 33, 43) extended from the first tape-sandwiching section (12, 32, 42). Further, each upper half element portion (11, 31, 41) has a tapered section (14, 34, 44) in which the dimension between front and rear side faces, with respect to the longitudinal direction of the tape, of at least the first tape-sandwiching section (12, 32, 42) is gradually reduced upward. With such a slide fastener (1), the fastener elements (10, 10', 30, 40) can be formed in lightweight and have the appearance of metal fastener elements. |
