PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which is easily handled without giving a sense of incongruity to a wearer in use and reliably prevents horizontal leakage. SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes: front wing portions 60A which are arranged outside an absorbent body 30 in the width direction W of the absorbent article 1 and extended outward in the width direction W of the absorbent body 30 in a crotch area X1 corresponding to the crotch of the wearer; and gathers 50 which are arranged in the both side edges 31 of the absorbent body 30, extended in the longitudinal direction L of the absorbent article 1 to prevent the leakage of the body fluid of the wearer from the absorbent article 1. The front wings 60A have roots 61 positioned on the most inner side of the front wings 60A in the width direction W of the absorbent article 1.
