<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive and multilayered disk not requiring to switch the recording layers and also eliminating a large radial movement when recording and reproducing continuous information on a multilayered disk. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical disk drive writes data on a disk having a number of recording layers. This optical disk has recording layers having clockwise spiralling tracks to record data, and also recording layers having counterclockwise spiralling tracks to record data. This optical disk drive records data on a first recording layer, then selects another data recordable layer having a track formed in the spiral pattern opposite to the first recording layer to record the data, next to the first recording layer.
