<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability life of a whole joint by relaxing stress due to interference between each of balls and each of the opening edges of track grooves, making a crack in the opening edges of the track grooves hard to occur, even when too great an operating angle is taken or an inner ring slides out. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sliding type constant velocity universal joint includes an outer ring 10 having the plurality of track grooves 12 formed in an inner peripheral face 14, the inner ring 20 having the plurality of track grooves 22 formed in an outer peripheral face 24 in pair with the track grooves 12 of the outer ring 10, the plurality of balls 30 existing between each of the track grooves 12 of the outer ring 10 and each of the track grooves 22 of the inner ring 20 for transmitting torque, and a cage 40 existing between the inner peripheral face 14 of the outer ring 10 and the outer peripheral face 24 of the inner ring 20 for holding the balls 30. At the opening edges of the track grooves 12 of the outer ring 10, cut-off rounded portions 11a are provided corresponding to at least ball contact points.
