<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the accuracy of life estimation of a light source with a plurality of light emitting means is low. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: the light source 21 which has the plurality of light emitting means and emits light shed onto a photoreceptor; a light source driving unit 22 which controls so that an emission amount of light emitted for a constant time of the light emitting means for life determination is larger than an emission amount of light emitted for the constant time of another light emitting means by using at least one of the plurality of light emitting means of the light source 21 as the light emitting means for life determination; and a central operation unit 30 which determines the life of the light source 21 according to a light emission state of the light emitting means for life determination.
