The device has two contact units for direct contacting of contacts of a battery (13), respectively. The contact units are partially or completely made from an electrically conducting elastomer unit or electrically conducting adhesive (14), where the adhesive is glued to an end of an electrical wire (15). The contact units are mechanically connected with one another over a faceplate, where one of the contact units has a plastic carrier with a recess. The contact units are positioned in such a manner that a gap is formed between the contact units. An independent claim is also included for a hearing device comprising a battery contact device.
