PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring the diameter of a cylinder liner while the two-stroke crosshead engine is in a temporarily non-operation state, and to provide a diameter measuring device used by the method.

SOLUTION: The electronic diameter measuring device 10 for measuring the diameter of the cylinder liner is inserted in the inside of the cylinder liner 106 of an internal combustion engine through a scavenging port 103 to be arranged at a measurement position and measures the inside diameter of the cylinder liner 106 as electronic parameters.
