PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly determine whether or not there is a possibility that a storage device, which can be attached/detached to/from an information processor, has been illegally accessed. SOLUTION: A CPU 105 of an image forming apparatus 101 is configured to read SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) information from HDD 109 and 112 when power is turned on, and to determine whether or not the number of times of power-on in the SMART information, which is stored in a memory 106 (nonvolatile memory) when power is turned on previous time, and the number of times of power-on in the SMART information, which is read when power is turned on this time, have a specific relation (continuity).
