<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high speed retrieval by taking into consideration access right, and to propose a retrieval system in which change of an access right is quickly reflected. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This retrieving device is provided with: a document; a document database for storing access right information related with the access rights of one or more user groups consisting of one or more users with respect to each document; a retrieval index table for registering a retrieval index for retrieving the document database in association with each document; an acceptance means for accepting a retrieval instruction; a determination means for determining whether access right information has been changed; and a retrieval means for retrieving a document based on the determination result of the determination means by using the retrieval index table.
