PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a sidewall packing giving a tire with sufficient reinforcing properties, low fuel consumption and rigidity at low cost. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a sidewall packing includes 5-40 pts.mass of pulverized bituminous coal and 2-8 pts.mass of petroleum-based resin, each based on 100 pts.mass of diene rubber.
