PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prove a lid body of a kettle allowing a user to position it in the standing-up posture so that the top with a setting/removing part for setting/removing the lid body being held is not covered and facilitating positioning of the lid to be removed, lifting up/setting of it through gripping of the setting/removing part. SOLUTION: The lid body of the kettle includes a disc-shaped body 201 that is plug-fit in a recess 4b on an upper end of a kettle body 4 to close a water-heating-area opening 2b from above. The body 201 includes the setting/removing part 12 for the body 201 being set/removed onto/from the kettle body 4 through action or gripping from above inside the top. A positioning part 203 provided on a circumferential part of the outer periphery of the body 201 is located in the approximately same level 204 including at least one out of a face part, a line part and a point part so that the user is able to position the body 201 in the standing-up posture to prevent it from falling-down to an upper-face side or an inner-face side and widthways rolling, thereby providing the lid with the solution.
