<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper storage cassette for improving movement follow-up performance of a pair of extension side guides, when moving one main side guide in the width direction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This paper storage cassette is arranged so as to sandwich a pair of main side guides 32 and 33 between the pair of extension side guides 34 and 35, and is provided with a second lateral guide moving means 50 of a rack and pinion mechanism for connecting between the pair of extension side guides 34 and 35, and an energizing means 60 for applying force so as to always narrow a width between the pair of extension side guides 34 and 35.
