<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-air heater for heating a large area of a treated material disposed on a face orthogonal to the hot air supply direction within a specific temperature range. Ž<P>SOLUTION: As this hot-air heater has a heating means and a straightening and soaking means for hot air, a large area of the treated material disposed on the face orthogonal to a gas supply direction can be heated. In this hot-air heater, a flow channel structure of a gas in the heating means for heating the gas, and a flow channel structure of a gas at a supply opening for supplying the heated gas, are different from each other, and a cylindrical holder and a straightening plate as the straightening and soaking means are disposed at a supply opening side of the heater. As the straightening plate is disposed in the cylindrical holder, and inserted between a tip of a heating element and a central position of the cylindrical holder in the axial direction in the cylindrical holder, straightening action and soaking action can be effectively obtained.
