<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing diversion of an authenticity proof label, with which copying and diversion of the authenticity proof label can be prevented. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The authenticity proof label 1 is pasted on a base member 6 through the steps of: preparing an authenticity proof label 1 including an adhesive layer 2, a hologram layer 3 formed on the adhesive layer 2, and a protective layer 4 formed on the hologram layer 3; pasting the authenticity proof label 1 onto a desired base member 6; and providing a cut with a predetermined depth from a side of the protective layer 4, in such a manner that a surface area of the protective layer 4 of the pasted authenticity proof label 1 is divided into at least two segments.
