<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device surely sucking a recording medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The recording device includes a suction part 215 having a plurality of suction ports 215a, 215b, 215c provided in the conveying direction of the recording medium to suck the recording medium finished with recording. The suction ports are closed when the recording medium is not conveyed, while the suction ports are sequentially opened with the conveyance of the tip when the recording medium is conveyed. Consequently, when the recorded recording medium is conveyed, only the suction port at which the tip is located can be opened. The suction capacity of a fan can thereby be concentrated on the opened suction port, and the tip of the recording medium curled particularly strong can be surely sucked.
