<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of entry overflow in switches on a communication network. <P>SOLUTION: A communication system includes a plurality of switches disposed on the communication network and a management computer connected to the plurality of switches. The number of entries for use is the number of flows managed in one switch. A parameter is an amount depending upon the number of entries for use, and a switch cost is an amount depending upon the parameter. The management computer includes a storage unit and a control unit. Entry status information showing respective parameters of the plurality of switches is stored in the storage unit. The control unit controls a flow from a transmission source to a transmission destination in the communication network. Specifically, the control unit refers to the entry status information to calculate switch costs of switches belonging to respective route candidates from the transmission source to the transmission destination in the communication network and then determines one of the route candidates as a route of the flow from the transmission source to the transmission destination on the basis of the calculated switch costs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
