PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire improved in the lateral stiffness of the tire without increasing tire weight. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire includes a tread 1, a pair of side walls 2, a pair of beads 3, a carcass 5 formed of at least one carcass ply extended in a toroidal shape between bead cores 4 embedded in respective beads 3, and a belt 6 formed of two or more cord crossing belt layers disposed at the outer periphery side of a crown region of the carcass 5. In the cross section in the tire width direction, the maximum width of the crossing layer of the belt 6 is within a range of 0.9-1.1 times with respect to the rim width r of a rim R applied, and a curvature radius Cb of the carcass 5 at the point positioned outermost in the radial direction out of crossing points of a line segment in the radial direction passing through the maximum width position of the crossing layer of the belt with respect to the carcass 5 is within a range of 0.60-0.85 times with respect to a curvature radius Cc of the carcass 5 at the position of the maximum tire cross-sectional width.
