PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjustment method for a variable valve assembly, capable of easily adjusting, with high adjustment accuracy, a variation between cylinders of the variable valve assembly in which a camshaft is assembled. SOLUTION: Control members 13, 27 are displaced in the high valve lift direction and set at any lift positions. After the difference between the valve lift heights which are output from valve drive members 22 at the lift positions is adjusted within a predetermined tolerance, the control members are displaced in the low valve lift direction on the opposite side of the high valve lift direction, and positioned at a lift position where the valve lift amount is equal to a predetermined low valve lift amount. It is confirmed whether the difference between the valve lift heights which are output from the valve drive members at the lift positions is within a specified tolerance at the lift positions or not. Consequently, a variation between cylinders can be adjusted without a troublesome operation in which it is determined whether the difference is within the tolerance or not at multiple points.
