<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To delay occurrence time of a failure or a trouble in large capacity storage parts by suppressing vibration stress to be applied to the large capacity storage parts in an image forming apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image input part inputs image data. An image formation part 21 forms an image on the basis of the input image data. The large capacity storage parts 9, 11 store image data and output operation inspection information accompanying storage operation. An operation control part 37 acquires the operation inspection information at each predetermined timing and compares the acquired information with inspection reference information. When discriminating that a predicted failure time is early, the operation control part 37 controls the apparatus so as to reduce the vibration of the large capacity storage parts 9, 11.
