PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the strength of a cabin without increasing the weight of the vehicle body. SOLUTION: In a vehicle lower body structure provided with a cross member 2 extending in a body widthwise direction to be adjacent to the cabin, by forming a plurality of closed cross sections with a first cross member 3 and a second cross member 4 in a plate-like form opposing to each other, the buckling strength in a lateral direction of the vehicle body and the flexural strength in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body are increased, to increase the strength of the cabin. Furthermore, by articulating the plurality of closed cross sections one another via a part in which the first cross member 3 and the second cross member 4 are sequentially overlapped, the buckling strength in the lateral direction of the vehicle body and the flexural strength in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body are further increased, thereby further increasing the strength of the cabin. Moreover, by forming a plurality of sequential closed cross sections between the first cross member 3 and the second cross member 4 as described above, the strength of the cabin is increased without increasing the weight of the vehicle body.
