PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein surplus bubbles not applied to a recording medium between forms are generated when applying bubbles to the continuous forms, and the surplus bubbles are dried and processing liquid components stick to cause the degradation of bubble applying performance, the performance degradation of a driving system, or the like. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus includes a recording head unit 101 forming images on the form 100; a conveyor belt 102 conveying the form 100; and a bubble applicator 200 applying bubbles 210 obtained by forming at least one processing liquid out of liquid and gel into bubbles, to the form 100. When applying the bubbles 210 to a plurality of continuous forms 100, paper feeding operation is performed making a space between the preceding form 100 and the succeeding form 100 narrower than a space when forming images by the recording head unit 101 or a space when discharging paper.
