<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device using a conductive polymer actuator, with reduced size and impact resistance for actualizing a lighter weight, improved quietness and further power saving. <P>SOLUTION: The brake device using the conductive polymer actuator includes a plurality of displacement mechanisms provided on the outside face of a conductive polymer film 1, the displacement mechanisms being elongated in the direction of the film thickness of the conductive polymer film 1 by giving potential to the conductive polymer film 1 to shrink it with oxidation-reduction reaction. As a result, it is inserted in use between solid planes which are relatively driven at a mutual space, and operated as a brake on the driven solid planes with the elongation in the direction of the film thickness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
