When the longitudinal acceleration offset quantity Gos is less than a prescribed value, and the longitudinal acceleration Gs is less than the detectable critical value (a) of the longitudinal acceleration sensor, the corrected longitudinal acceleration Ga is divided by a brake liquid pressure P to calculate a gradientα. Then, when the longitudinal acceleration Gs is less than the detectable critical value (a), the corrected longitudinal acceleration Ga is defined as an estimated longitudinal acceleration Ga', and when the longitudinal acceleration Ga is equal to or more than the detectable critical value (a), a value calculated by addingα×P to the detectable critical value (a) is defined as the estimated longitudinal acceleration Ga'. Thus, it is possible to accurately calculate the longitudinal acceleration in a region equal to exceeding the detectable critical value (a) of the longitudinal acceleration sensor, and to enlarge the detectable range of the longitudinal acceleration by a single longitudinal acceleration sensor.
