<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple determination method of a target material, and a detection material capable of determining more accurately. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This detection material for determining visually a concentration of the target material existing in solution by converting it into the length of a domain 4 colored by utilizing a capillary phenomenon to a carrier or by supplying the solution 1 by sucking or a filtering system, has a constitution wherein a coloring band 3 including a reaction agent to be colored by being brought into contact with the target material and a non-coloring band 2 not including the reaction agent are arranged alternately in the length direction of the carrier, and also has a constitution wherein the amount of the reaction agent included in each coloring band is adjusted corresponding to each arrangement position.
