PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel capable of mitigating an abrupt slip generated between an inner member and a shoulder of an outer joint member, and preventing the generation of a stick-slip sound. SOLUTION: In the bearing device for the wheel with an inner ring 3 fixed in the axial direction by a calking part 6, an annular recess 6a is formed in an outside diameter part of the calking part 6 opposing a large end face 3b of the inner ring 3, and a synthetic resin-made cap 17 is fitted to the calking part 6. The cap 17 comprises a disk-like abutting part 17a, a cylindrical flange 17b extending in the axial direction from an outside diameter part of the abutting part 17a, and a plurality of claws 17c which are formed at equal spaces in the circumferential direction so as to extend inwardly in the radial direction from the flange 17b and have diameter set to be slightly larger than the inside diameter of the annular recess 6a. While the cap 17 is held by the calking part 6 and the shoulder 15, the claws 17c of the cap 17 are locked to the annular recess 6a, and a lubricant is interposed between the calking part 6 and the shoulder 15.
