The housing (10) has sections and attachment areas (14, 52) that are formed such that each section rests at the attachment areas and is continuous convex-curved along surface curves, where the housing is made of chromium nickel steel. The surface curves are in a form of sectional structures of normal planes that are provided at a point of the sections. The planes are arranged such that each plane forms an angle with installation positions of the housing. A normal vector of a virtual plane is collinear with a force of gravity direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of a transmission housing.
