摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal processing apparatus, capable of reducing the power consumption of a display device, more without fail, by inverting the gradation of a text region of video signals. <P>SOLUTION: The video signal processing device includes a text region extracting section 3 extracting from among the inputted video signals, a text region consisting only of text images; an average luminance level detecting section 5 detecting the average luminance level of the extracted text region; a luminance level comparing section 4, comparing the luminance level of a text part and the luminance level of a background part of the extracted text region; and a text region inverting section 6, inverting the gradation of the video signals related to the text region. Only when the average luminance level detected by the average luminance level detecting section 5 is higher than 50% of the maximum luminance level and when the luminance level comparing section 4 determines that the luminance level of the background part is higher than the luminance level of the text part, will the text region inverting section 6 invert the gradation in the text region and display the text image on a display device 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
