<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the moving image visibility by suppressing a negative side clip phenomenon of a high frequency component while suppressing flicker, when the high frequency component of one frame is centralized on a first sub-frame and the low frequency component is distributed to the first and second sub-frames. <P>SOLUTION: In order to distribute low frequency component image data L in image data of one frame as L1 and L2 in the first and second sub-frames, the distribution of L2 in the low frequency component image data L is determined. This determination is based on a nonlinear curve, the distribution ratio of L2 is decreased when the low frequency component image data L is in a low level region, and the distribution ratio of L2 is increased within a range that does not exceed 0.5 when it is in a high level region. Thus, the negative side clip phenomenon of the high frequency component is suppressed in the low level region, and the flicker is suppressed in the high level region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
