PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner having excellent uniform dispersion of an additive over a surface of a host particle and also having no variation in charging amount of a developing agent, no generation of toner filming on a photoreceptor, and further no generation of toner filming on a holding member of the developing agent due to the reduced free additive. SOLUTION: The method for producing the toner includes blending the additive containing at least silica with host particles obtained by performing pulverization and classification after at least a binder resin, a coloring agent, and a mold releasing agent are melt-kneaded and cooled, to produce a toner. The step of blending the additive comprises at least two blending steps. In the first step, blending is performed for the host particles and the additive containing at least silica, and in the second step, blending is further proceeded after only the host particles are added.
