<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow optical components to be mounted on a pickup frame with high accuracy. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An assembly auxiliary apparatus 10 is an apparatus to position and fix the optical components at/to the pickup frame, and is equipped with a base, fixing arms, movement start position locking parts 16a-16f, fixed position detecting parts 13a-13f, a sequence of operation setting part 28, and a lock control part 29. The pickup frame can be mounted on the base. The fixing arm is mounted on the base so as to be movable between the movement start position and the fixed position and fixes the pickup frame and the optical components. The movement start position locking part locks and unlocks the fixing arm. The fixed position detecting part detects whether the fixing arm is in the fixed position. On the sequence of operation setting part, a first sequence of operation is set. The lock control part unlocks a plurality of fixing arms one by one according to the first sequence of operation corresponding to the result of detection of the fixed position detecting part.
