<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective cap for modular plug RJ45, which can prevent deformation or scratching of a LAN modular plug RJ45 during carrying of a cable with LAN modular plug RJ45 removed for movement, and has no possibility of loss. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The protective cap 1 for modular plug RJ45 is attached to a tip of the LAN modular plug RJ45. The cap can be easily released by pressing down a locking claw piece 11 at the tip of the LAN modular plug RJ45. Although the cap 1 may be lost since it is not used when the cable 12 with LAN modular plug RJ45 is connected to a device or the like, the loss can be prevented by attaching a cord-like strap 5 to the cable 12 in Cow hitch manner to integrate the cap 1 to the cable 12.
