PURPOSE: A food composition for prevention of obesity is provided to treat and prevent obesity by increasing CYP7A1 gene expression, and to decrease concentration of GOT, GPT, cholesterol, LDL, neutral lipid, and high blood cholesterol. CONSTITUTION: A food composition for prevention of obesity contains ethyl acetate extract of Codonopsis lanceolata roots as a beneficial component. The ethyl acetate extract of Codonopsis lanceolata roots are gained by extracting Codonopsis lanceolata roots for 7 ~ 9 hours with ethanol of 8 ~ 12 parts by weight 2 ~ 4 times and a step for dividing the extract inot hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol and a water layer. |
