PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the disadvantage that the back of a chair rises against the back of a sitting person when tilted backwards, and clothes are turned up by the rising back. SOLUTION: When tiltably attaching the base end of a back frame 31 to a support base part 2 to support the back 3 on the front end side of the back frame 31, an attitude control means 3X for moving the back 3 relatively to the frame 31 in such a direction that a lower end 3a sinks behind a seat 5 while approaching a seat surface linked with the backward tilting operation of the back frame 31 is provided between the back frame 31 and the back 3.
