<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machining apparatus for executing the machining of excellent quality at high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: (a) A target machining line is determined by measuring the coordinates of at least two points on a linear pattern. (b) A plurality of target incident positions are set so as to scan the laser beam along the target machining line. (c) The incident position of the laser beam, or positional information on the linear pattern forward of the scanning direction is acquired, and the incident command value is calculated by correcting the target incident position based on the acquired positional information.
