PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming method which is improved, in terms of an image defect, such as, image deletion caused by activated gas, such as, NOx and ozone, especially for providing an image forming apparatus and an image forming method improved, in terms of an image defect such as image deletion which is apt to occur, immediately under an electrification pole. SOLUTION: Power supply stop operation (end sequence) of the image forming apparatus includes the steps wherein, after all the members press-fit to an organic photoreceptor are released, excepting a developing means, the organic photoreceptor is rotated, and an charging means, an exposure means; and the developing means are actuated on the organic photoreceptor, to form a toner image part on the organic photoreceptor, and the rotation of the organic photoreceptor is stopped, in such a state that the toner image part is located immediately under the charging pole of the charging means, and then stoppage of the power supply of the image forming apparatus is performed.
