<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for improving power saving efficiency in a power saving state, while eliminating time and labor for changing design with respect to respective apparatuses. <P>SOLUTION: A proxy processor is installed for performing processing to be performed by an information processor by proxy in a period where the information processor connected to a network 15 is in a power saving state. The proxy processor includes: an information storage part 42 for receiving and storing apparatus setting information from the information processor, which is used for generating a response and a request to be performed by the information processor with respect to another apparatus connected to the network; a report response part 43 for receiving a report on shift to a power saving state from the information processor, transmitting a response message on shift to the information processor, and shifting the information processor to the power saving state; and a proxy processing part 44 for generating and transmitting a request to be performed with respect to another apparatus based on the apparatus setting information during the power saving state of the information processor, and generating and returning a response with respect to an inquiry when the inquiry is received from another apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
