<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which calculates an energy correction coefficient of a PET detector such as a DOI detector with high precision or at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: (1)γ-rays are irradiated from a reference source on the detection surface of the PET detector to collect an output signal related to a light amount from a photomultiplier tube. (2) A photoelectric absorption event is projected onto a two-dimensional positional map on the basis of the collected output signal, and a scintillator crystal which has interacted with theγ-rays is identified by referring to a positional LUT. (3) The collected output signals are accumulated, and a light amount spectrum for each scintillator crystal is obtained. (4) The peak position of the light amount spectrum is determined with its fractional portion included, the energy correction coefficient is calculated, and an energy correction LUT is created using the energy correction coefficient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
