<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to automatically store a second operation unit when an abnormality occurs therein. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes: a first operation unit 130 for operating the image forming apparatus 100; the second operation unit 140 including a keyboard 142 which accepts user's input operation, and configured to be shiftable between a projecting position where the keyboard 142 projects to the outside of the image forming apparatus 100 and a storage position where the keyboard 142 is stored in the image forming apparatus 100; a CPU 160 which shifts the second operation unit 140 to the projecting position or the storage position; and a detection unit 200 for detecting the abnormality or abnormality release of the image forming apparatus 100.
