An image displaying method for providing a longer total light emission time for each display line. The method is an image displaying method for use in an image displaying apparatus that alternately displays images for the left eye and the right eye constituting a three-dimensional view image on a screen having a plurality of display lines. The method comprises: a shutdown switching start step (t1) of starting the switching of shutdown states of eyeglasses; a write scanning start step (210) of starting a sequential writing of image display data into the plurality of display lines; and a light emission start step (220) of starting the continuous light emission of the plurality of display lines based on the display data. The write scanning start step starts the writing of the display data during an interval (Sc) during which the shutdown states are switched. The light emission start step inhibits the plurality of display lines from performing the continuous light emission during the interval (Sc) during which the shutdown states are switched. The time required for starting the continuous light emission of the plurality of display lines is shorter than the time required for write scanning the display data into the plurality of display lines.
