A vehicle control device (1) has a road-to-vehicle communication device (2) which acquires traffic information within a predetermined section on a road along which a vehicle travels, and transmits the traffic information to a judgment part (3b); a deceleration acquisition part (3a) which acquires deceleration of a leading vehicle in the predetermined section, and transmits information on the deceleration to the judgment part (3b); the judgment part (3b) which judges whether a lane has to be changed on the basis of the traffic information acquired by the road-to-vehicle communication device (2) and the deceleration acquired by the deceleration acquisition part (3a); and an instruction part (3c) which instructs the vehicle or/and a following vehicle to change the lane when the judgment part (3b) judges that the lane has to be changed. Therefore, it is possible to provide the vehicle control device capable of efficiently suppressing occurrence of jamming. |
