PURPOSE: A tape paste bank note detecting apparatus and an operation method using a capacitance sensor are provided to detect the adhesion of tapes to back notes. CONSTITUTION: A capacitance sensor(30) has the predetermined dielectric constant between the periodic wave transmission conductor plate and periodic wave reception conductor plate. A periodic wave signal is transmitted between two conductor plates. A signal processing unit(50) stands in line the amplified signal according to the received order. An analog to digital converting is performed. A controller(20) radiates the periodic wave signal which becomes in the frequency generation part through the periodic wave transmission conductor plate. The threshold range which the signal received after the periodic wave reception conductor plate, and an amplifier and signal processing unit in advance establishes is escaped.
