PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality separator for a nonaqueous secondary battery in which there is less adhesion amount of agglomerates, and there is no effect on battery characteristics. SOLUTION: In the separator for the nonaqueous secondary battery in which a porous coating layer containing an organic polymer compound is laminated on one face or both faces of a base material membrane, and the separator for the nonaqueous secondary battery in which in an area 1 m<SP>2</SP>of the separator surface, there exists no agglomerates of the maximum diameter 300 μm or more composed of a structure of the coating layer, and there are five pieces or less of the agglomerates of the maximum diameters 5 μm or more and 300 μm or less composed of a constituent of the coating layer.
