PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately decide a reverse traveling state to prevent a contact accident. SOLUTION: A vehicular driving support device includes: a position detection means for detecting a present position of a vehicle; a map data storage means for storing map data including information of a gradient of each section on a road to a horizontal plane; a map matching means for executing map matching processing making the present position of the vehicle match the section on the road based on the present position of the vehicle detected by the position detection means and the map data stored in the map data storage means; a gradient measurement means for measuring a gradient of the vehicle to the horizontal plane; a first accordance decision means for deciding whether or not the gradient of the section on the road made to be matched by the map matching means is different from the gradient measured by the gradient measurement means by a value not less than a prescribed value; and a reverse traveling state decision means for deciding whether or not the vehicle is in the reverse traveling state based on a decision result in the first accordance decision means.
