<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arrangement equipped with a superconducting cable which is surrounded with a cryostat consisting of two metal tubes vacuum-insulated and structured concentrically with respect to one another and also surrounded with a space for carrying a coolant so that an adverse effect of short-circuiting is drastically reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The device is provided with a superconducting cable SK consisting of a superconducting conductor 1 and a superconducting screen 3 which surrounds the superconducting conductor with an interposition of a dielectric 2, and is surrounded with the free space FR for carrying the coolant by the cryostat KR which has two metal tubes 4, 5 structured concentrically with respect to one another and between which vacuum insulation is provided. Tubular closed layers 7, 8 made of a ferromagnetic material are provided outside the superconducting screen along a whole length of the superconducting cable. The superconducting screen is composed of a superconducting material whose electrical resistance value in the normally conductive state is at least 50 times greater than the electrical resistance value of the material used for the superconducting conductor in the normally conductive state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
