<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for refining a metal or the like, while efficiently performing the removal of impurities by the installment of rotating flow suppression members into a molten metal, which can prevent the phenomenon that bubbles and oxides generated during refining remain to the vicinity of the surface of the molten metal, and the surface of the molten metal is solidified. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for refining a metal where a cooling body 3 is immersed into the molten metal 2 to be refined stored in a vessel 1, and, while relatively rotating the cooling body 3 to the vessel, a high purity metal is crystallized out on the surface of the cooling body, refining is performed in such a manner that rotating flow suppression members 61, 62 are arranged in the molten metal so as to suppress the rotating flow of the molten metal 2 caused by the rotation of the cooling body 3, and, in the middle of the refining, the suppression force to the rotating flow of the rotating flow suppression members is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
