The display device (5) comprises a sensor system (6) with at least one sensor (9) for detecting the intensity or colour of light emitted from at least one display area (5) of the display device (1) into the viewing angle of the display device (1). The sensor system (6) further comprises in one embodiment an at least partially transparent sensor. The sensor system comprises in another embodiment at least one optical coupling device (10) including a light guide member (12) and a incoupling member (13) for guiding or directing, e.g. deflecting, reflecting, bending, scattering, diffracting, at least one part of the light emitted from the display area (5) to the corresponding sensor (9), wherein said sensor (9) is located outside or at least partially outside the viewing angle of the display device (1). |
