The source has a condenser lens (9) arranged between a collector lens field (7) and an inlet end (23) of an optical wave guide (11). Optical surfaces of collector lenses (19) and the lens are formed with respect to each other such that the collector lenses reproduce lighting surfaces together with the lens at the inlet end. The lighting surfaces are defined by semiconductor light sources (3). A semiconductor light source field i.e. LED field (1), includes the lighting surfaces that are reproduced with different wavelengths of a lens combination (5) and superimpose at the inlet end.
