UWB signal pulse receiver and related method

#CMT# #/CMT# The receiver has a low-noise amplifier (4) and a band-pass filter (6) receiving electromagnetic signals from an antenna (2). The amplifier and filter apply a processing without changing frequency at the signals. A sampler (8) samples the signals processed by the amplifier and filter at a sampling frequency (fe) which is an integer multiple of a pulse repetition frequency (fprp) and lesser than one-fifth of an upper limit (fmax) of a frequency band. The sampled signals are regrouped into a preset number of segments. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for receiving electromagnetic signals transmitted in a frequency band. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for receiving electromagnetic signal e.g. ultra wideband signal, transmitted in a frequency band representing an information flow using a predetermined pulse modulation at pulse repetition frequency (claimed) in a transmission system. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The utilization of segments comprising n samples permits to integrate the electromagnetic signals over time intervals i.e. product of n and sampling time, thus avoiding clock offsets by correctly dimensioning n, and hence using a clock of moderate cost.
